The Opportunity
Your role as the Regional Sales Manager will see you execute strategic plans to ensure that HMCA’s wholesale and retail objectives are being met. You will effectively manage your team of Area Sales Managers (ASM) to actively assist the dealers to develop and maintain a highly motivated and effective dealer network. You will utilise your strong understanding of dealership operations and proven experience in managing people to lead and support your team of Area Sales Managers in enabling them to meet their monthly sales targets and annual KPIs.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that Retail, Wholesale targets and overall sale objectives are being met
- Provide weekly national updates on progress per region, according to budgets and targets
- Ensure that all training requirements are being met to ensure improved performance, internally and externally
- Provide regular forecasts on sales and stock levels per Dealership
- Build and maintain strong relationships with the Dealer Principals and General Manager through consistent Dealer visits and meetings
- Develop ideas and strategies on how to manage aged stock and to maximize all wholesale and retail opportunities
- Ensure Dealer profitability through mentoring, advice, and strong business plans, and ensure areas on non-performance within a Dealership is being actioned
- Provide input into the marketing plan provided by the ASM and Dealership
- Develop and grow, together with the Regional General Manger (RGM), commercial opportunities within the Regions
- Forecast sales and wholesale expectations and communicate to management
- Ensure that the ASM teams are being held accountable for all relevant targets and KPIs
- Develop, train, and motivate the ASM team to ensure maximum Dealer network performance
- Provide feedback to the National team on regional insights and competitive analysis
- Conduct monthly meetings with the Dealer Managers on monthly programs and to ensure clear communication
Key relationships
- You are reporting to the RGM Southern Region.
- This position has 4 direct reports (Area Sales Managers) and interacts with several departments including Marketing, Sales Operations, Finance and other external parties.
About You
You have the below skills and experience and are passionate about progressing your career with an innovative and dynamic automotive brand.
- 3-5 years’ experience in the automotive industry preferably with experience in field roles.
- Strong understanding of Dealership Operations specifically in Sales and Marketing.
- Background in people management including leading day-to-day operations, supervising, mentoring, and developing a high-performing team in Sales.
- Strong understanding of the automotive landscape and Hyundai's competitive position in the market with the ability to use data, trends and insights to identify areas for improved performance.
- Valid Driver’s Licence.
