The Opportunity
As the Product Engineer Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the Technical and Engineering teams ensuring new and existing products comply with all Australia regulations. You will administer and validate various new products and services to ensure successful and effective implementation plans. This position plays a fundamental role in supporting the development, enhancement and quality assurance of products and services, ensuring HMCA’s alignment with industry standards and customer requirements.
This is a newly created role due to the growth of our brand!
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review Vehicle/Product Certification and compliance document for ROVER submissions.
- Maintain and monitor RAV and NVES data for all new and current models.
- Stay up to date with the Australian regulations/trends and inform key stakeholders of any changes.
- Oversee the registrations and preparations of the HMC Quality and Hot Test Vehicles
- Manage port and local campaigns ensuring replacement parts are correctly fitted in accordance with HMC requirements.
- Perform internal Single Uniform Type Inspections (I-SUTI) to ensure both new and existing models are fully compliant with Australian Design Rules (ADR).
- Develop, update and maintain vehicle processing SOPs & BOMs for all new and current models.
- Conduct routine audits of built vehicles to guarantee compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Bill of Materials (BOM), verifying that all components and processes are up to date and aligned with current specifications.
- Participate in identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance vehicle development efficiency and quality.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to vehicle quality, reliability, and manufacturability, ensuring that vehicles meet both internal and external quality standards.
About You
You have the below skills and experience and are looking to develop your career in automotive with an innovative brand.
- You have a bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- You have a high attention to detail and experience with technical and engineering report writing.
- 1-2 years’ experience in the automotive industry or a strong desire to develop your skills in this field.
- You are process driven, with the ability to follow set procedures ensuring a high quality of work.
- Full unrestricted driver’s licence.
